- Wash your hands thoroughly
- Apply pressure with clean cloth to stop the bleeding
- Clean the wound area with mild soap and water; do not scrub
- Cover with a bandage or gauze pad
- Repeat application and change bandage often
- Consult your chil’s doctor if injury is serious
